How long does my makeup really last?

Media_httpavonrepcafe_wdqcj

Let’s face it … we’re all guilty of hanging on to our makeup for longer than we should. Is your favourite product suddenly less efficient? Does it smell funny or has it changed in colour and consistency? These are just a few of the telltale signs that your makeup has got to go! Don’t take chances — use this handy life span list as your guide.

Makeup Expiration Guidelines:
Mascara = 3 months
Lipstick = 1 – 2 years
Oil-based foundation = 18 months
Water-based foundation = 1 year
Concealer = 1 year
Powder = 2 years
Eye shadows = 3 years
Sponges = Wash weekly / discard monthly
Brushes = Wash weekly in warm soapy water.
